Mary Luz Lumbreras is a dedicated behavioral health and social services professional with over 17 years of experience serving individuals, families, youth, and communities across Illinois and Indiana. As the Founder of Move In Faith Consulting LLC, she is committed to empowering others through faith, compassion, advocacy, and evidence-based support.
Throughout her career, Mary has held leadership and direct-service roles in behavioral health, crisis intervention, child welfare, criminal justice, homelessness prevention, refugee and immigrant services, education, and community development. Her professional experience includes serving as a Behavioral Health Advisor, Director of Crisis Services, Crisis Diversion Program Manager, Police Social Worker, Licensed Case Manager, Family Reunification Specialist, Program Manager, and Resident Services Coordinator.
Mary has extensive experience working with vulnerable and underserved populations, including at-risk youth, survivors of domestic violence and human trafficking, individuals experiencing homelessness, refugees and immigrants, justice-involved individuals, and those facing mental health and substance use challenges. She has successfully developed crisis response programs, coordinated multidisciplinary teams, facilitated therapeutic and psychoeducational groups, conducted behavioral health assessments, and connected hundreds of individuals and families to critical community resources.
Known for her collaborative leadership style, Mary has built strong partnerships with law enforcement agencies, healthcare providers, schools, housing organizations, government entities, and community stakeholders to improve outcomes and strengthen support systems for those in need. She is passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths, overcome barriers, and achieve long-term stability and self-sufficiency.
Mary's approach is grounded in a holistic philosophy that recognizes the importance of emotional, physical, social, and spiritual well-being. Guided by Christian values, she believes lasting transformation occurs when professional expertise is combined with hope, encouragement, and genuine care.
